Cuban Cigars For The First Timer

By Trevor Wallace

If you ever get surrounded by a bunch of Cuban cigar lover, you'll hear how much each of them enjoy them. The fact of the matter is each Cuban cigar is very unique, especially the taste. The tobacco used in Cuban cigars comes from pre-selected highly guarded areas within Cuba. These farms are known as Vegas de prima or best of the best. So when it comes to the taste, Cuban cigars range from mild to strong. The popular ones are mostly strong with aromas of wood, chocolate, pepper, vanilla and more. Please note these are not added flavors, its just the beauty of the tobacco that grows all around Cuba. A truly blessed country in this matter.

It is very rare for you to actually come across any Cuban cigars that are mild. As a matter of fact, most of the best-known Cuban cigars are actually quite strong and are well known for their specific flavor. There are other ways to rank a Cuban cigar other than its flavor, however, one of these is by the way that it is put together. Cuban cigars are notorious for being hand rolled tightly and for smoking very well.

Among the different types of Cuban cigars there are also a variety of different shapes and sizes. They are not all shaped in the same way nor are they all specifically cut to a certain length. For example, the Montecristo No. 4 is the most popular cigar in the world. Another cigar by the same company, however, is the Montecristo A. This is a larger cigar and is a fantastic smoke but you're going to pay more of a price for this one. It is about three times as much per cigar than the most popular brand that they have. It is well worth it, however, as they are very well put together and use excellent tobacco which makes for an enjoyable smoke.

I truly appreciate the variety in Cuban cigar brands. Since they are all controlled by Habanos SE (Cuban government), the quality on all of these cigars is simply phenomenal. The best way to enjoy Cuban cigars is with your friends and family or if you just want to take it easy (Like i usually do), pop open a bottle of wine and smoke one with it. It is the ultimate experience. Just you and the cigar with some nice wine on the side is one of the best things that I've discovered for my self.

No matter where you get you Cuban cigars from, make sure they are legit. Only get them from authorized by Habanos SA distributors. You can't get them in the US as they are illegal but you can get them on the Internet. Again watch out for people selling them for a few hundred bucks as you won't even find them that low within Cuba!
